Enderby to Kelowna: 88 km / 55 miles
Kelowna to Penticton: 64 km / 40 miles
I left Kelowna with a smile this morning. I mean, the town is all right but there are so many bums it ruins it. And there are no mountains. And it was a real furnace. So I was more than happy to be back on the bike and cross the bridge over Okanagan Lake. And this is where the Okanagan Valley showed its real colors. Vineyards, trees, the Lake, fruit stands all over (I stopped three times for fruits but they were all so appealing I would have stopped at each and every one of them).
I am now in Penticton, sweet small town, home of the Canadian Ironman triathlon and great wine country. It's still up in the air where I'm going to be tomorrow but I will leave early to avoid the rain..
J'ai quitté Kelowna avec un beau grand sourire ce matin! Bon, la ville est pas si pire mais il y a tellement de clochards que ça en devient dérangeant. Et il n'y a pas de montagnes. Et il faisait juste trop chaud. Donc remonter sur mon vélo et traverser le pont au dessus du lac Okanagan me faisaient absolument plaisir! Et c'est à partir de là que la vallée d'Okanagan m'a montré ses vraies couleurs. Des vignobles, des arbres à fruits, le beau lac, des kiosques à fruits à tous les kilomètres (je suis arrêtée trois fois mais ils étaient tous tellement invitants que j'aurais arrêté partout).
Je suis donc maintenant à Penticton, beau petit village, hôte du triathlon Ironman canadien et pays du vin. C'est encore loin d'être décidé où je serai demain mais je ne tarderai pas à partir avec la pluie qui s'en vient..
